We are looking for a hands on UX designer with experience and passion in dev tools / ML tools to lead the design on our studio and VS code products

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the product team and founders to develop and iterate on mock ups for new large features

• Own the entire UX process

• Proactively detect UX/UI issues, set tasks, implement simple changes yourself (e.g. CSS styles, fonts, etc)

• Maintain the entire design system [currently in Figma]

• Stay up to date with current best UI/UX and design best practices and suggest improvements and features to make the tools intuitive and a pleasure to use

Requirements:

• Experience with UX/UI in modern SaaS applications and data-driven tools - numerical/graphical data heavy views, e.g. finance, data science, statistical data, BI, etc

• Deep understanding / experience with the dev tools ecosystem. Software engineering common practices/workflows and tools - like Git, GitHub, etc.

• Established design taste with a programmer's/hacker-ish bias

• Good sense of task prioritization [e.g. identify what would be the best for the current needs - a quick mock up or a thorough and stable version]

Bonus points if you're familiar with the ML infrastructure, MLOps, or other developer tools like IDEs.
