Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will also serve as a Solution Architect for a significant data migration project within a major telecommunications company. This dual-role position involves leading the design of data architecture and hands-on development using PL/SQL to migrate data from legacy CRM and BSS systems to a new microservices-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Architecture: Lead the design of the overall data architecture for the migration, ensuring the solution is scalable, robust, and aligns with business requirements.
• Data Analysis and Mapping: Conduct detailed analysis of the source and target Oracle databases. Develop comprehensive data mapping strategies that align with business requirements.
• ETL Development: Design, develop, and implement ETL processes and pipelines using Oracle tools and PL/SQL for accurate data migration.
• Scripting: Write and optimize PL/SQL scripts to perform complex data transformations and loading processes.
• Data Cleansing and Quality: Analyze, design, and implement data cleansing routines to resolve quality issues before data migration.
• Testing and Validation: Develop and execute detailed test plans to validate the data migration process, ensuring data integrity and completeness.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with database administrators, system architects, application developers, and business stakeholders to ensure a seamless migration.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor the migration process and quickly resolve any issues to ensure the project's success.
• Documentation and Training: Document the architecture, migration strategies, and ETL processes; provide training and knowledge transfer to team members.
• Optimization: After migration, analyze the new system for performance bottlenecks and recommend optimizations.

Requirements

• Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on data migration, ETL development, and architecture design.
• Technical Skills:
• Deep expertise in Oracle databases, including schema design, PL/SQL programming, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing data migration projects.
• Strong knowledge of ETL processes and tools.
• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-based data platforms is a plus.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve data migration issues quickly and effectively.
• Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
