About the Role:

The HR Generalist provides operational support to the Medical Services line business. This role is responsible for the hire to retire process in a employees life cycle. The ideal candidate will have a robust experience with HRIS systems and onboarding/offboarding.

This is a hybrid position (3 days in office per week; 2 days working remotely from home) for our Leduc, Alberta location. Candidates must be local to the Edmonton area.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Systems, Reporting and Record keeping

  • Manage all HR systems such as Success Factors and ADP. Lead and deliver completeness, accuracy and validity of all systems and People Operations reporting. Ensuring data integrity and consistency. Accountable (Champion) for MyHR data integrity across the Region.
  • Updating and maintaining leave records.
  • Maintain the HR Mailbox
  • Provide monthly leave and MyLearning reports (Success Factors)
  • Ensure that employee E-folders are updated and maintained.
  • Support all the HR projects and initiatives of the Region.
  • Ensure that Organizational charts produced are accurate and up to date.

People Operations

  • Contribute to local HR projects in relation to issues specific to the region.
  • Assist with the annual performance management/appraisal process across the region
  • Routine HR Tasks as assigned.
  • Benefits Administration.

Compliance

  • Lead all kinds of Audits for the HR Department (any timely audits such as ISO, Management Standard Audit, Finance' Audits) and ensure a satisfactory score. Improve Compliance to support HR team to identify opportunities where actions are required. Following an audit, ensure that the department prepares a relevant Action plan to close the gaps identified and assist to drive compliance.
  • Responsible for updating, maintaining and publishing HR policies and procedures for the Canadian Region.
  • Ensure that the HR standards, policies and processes are implemented in the Canadian Region.
  • Gain a working knowledge of the relevant labor laws and understand changes in local regulatory issues and the potential impact of such changes on employees.
  • Stay up to date with local HR trends.

On-Boarding and Off-Boarding

  • Ensure smooth onboarding at the commencement of all staff joining the region.
  • Provide support to all outgoing staff members to ensure the exit process is initiated and completed in a timely and customer focused manner.
  • Ensure smooth repatriation at the end of employee life cycle.
  • Work closely with the relevant departments to ensure all the necessary steps are taken when employees join or leave the company or region.
  • Manage the exit process for resignations, terminations and transfers.

Required Competencies

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field
  • 5+ years of working experience in HR operations;
  • Experience with payroll processes
  • Experience managing HRIS Integrations
  • Experienced in people operations & engagement initiatives;
  • Recruitment and related processes experience;
  • Experience with global HRIS systems (myHR);
  • Data analytics and reporting experience;
  • Experience within the service industry (preferred).
