Business Development Specialist, Teacher & Leader Evaluation Systems (K–12 Education) – Remote
Instructional Empowerment
Are you a former school district leader ready to scale your impact?
If you’ve led instructional improvement and understand teacher evaluation systems—but want to influence multiple schools or districts instead of just one—this role is built for you.
Instructional Empowerment is hiring a Business Development Specialist to expand our partnerships with K–12 schools and districts nationwide.

What Makes This Role Different
  • You’re not “selling a product”—you’re solving instructional challenges
  • Your background in education is a core qualification, not just a bonus
  • You’ll influence district-wide systems, not just individual classrooms
  • Strong alignment to mission: improving outcomes for ALL students
Minimum Qualifications (Required to Apply)
  • 3+ years as a District-level instructional leader (including HR or evaluation systems)
  • Direct experience with teacher and leader evaluation systems (Marzano, Danielson, etc.)
  • Experience leading or supporting instructional improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly Valued)
  • Experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles
  • Experience facilitating professional development for educators
  • Familiarity with school improvement frameworks and standards-based instruction
Compensation & Work Environment

  • Flexible schedule based on time zones and client needs
  • Salary range $100,000-$110,000

  • 15 Days PTO given upfront in your first year
  • 8 Paid Holidays + 2 Floating Holidays

🚫 Not the Right Fit If You:
  • Prefer transactional sales over relationship-building
  • Do not have K–12 leadership or evaluation experience
  • Are not comfortable engaging senior district leaders
✅ Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Former principal, AP, or district leader
  • Passionate about improving teacher effectiveness
  • Skilled at building trust and influencing decision-makers
  • Comfortable owning a pipeline and driving results

At the heart of Instructional Empowerment's mission is a deeply personal and powerful commitment to eradicating generational poverty and closing achievement gaps in K-12 education. This vision, championed by founder and CEO Michael D. Toth, stems from his own childhood experiences with poverty, fueling a lifelong passion to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive. The company's culture is built on the belief that all students, regardless of their background, possess the potential for profound academic and personal growth. To unlock this potential, Instructional Empowerment partners with schools and districts across the nation to fundamentally redesign Tier 1 instruction. This isn't about a one-size-fits-all program, but a collaborative partnership to build a school's internal capacity and create sustainable, long-term success. The team, comprised of experienced educators who have been teachers, principals, and district leaders themselves, works side-by-side with partners, owning their data and their goals as their own.

The core philosophy revolves around shifting from traditional, teacher-directed classrooms to dynamic, student-led learning environments. This transformative approach empowers students to become leaders of their own learning, engaging in rich discourse, collaborative problem-solving, and rigorous academic tasks. By fostering a culture of agency, autonomy, and critical thinking, Instructional Empowerment aims to develop not just better students, but independent, lifelong learners prepared for the complexities of the modern world. This dedication to proven, effective strategies is underscored by the company's independent Applied Research Center, which ensures that all methodologies meet the highest federal research standards. The team's passion is palpable; they are not just consultants, but dedicated partners in a shared mission to make the learning process more joyful, engaging, and empowering for every child and educator they serve. This collective drive to make a tangible difference in students' lives is the cultural bedrock of the organization.
