We are the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), a global community of passionate food science and technology professionals dedicated to advancing the science of food and its application to ensure a safe, nutritious, and sustainable global food supply. Since our founding in 1939, we have been at the forefront of the evolution of the food system, bringing together experts from academia, government, and industry to collaborate, learn, and innovate. Our community has grown to include nearly 11,000 members from over 90 countries, all united by a shared commitment to using science to solve the world's most pressing food challenges. We believe that by fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment for knowledge exchange, we can empower our members to develop groundbreaking solutions that benefit people all over the world.

Our work is multifaceted and far-reaching. We publish leading scientific journals, including the 'Journal of Food Science' and 'Food Technology' magazine, which are vital resources for researchers and professionals. Our annual event, IFT FIRST: Annual Event and Expo, is the world's largest gathering of its kind, offering a platform for showcasing the latest research, technologies, and innovations in the food industry. We are also deeply committed to professional development, offering certification programs, online courses, and career resources to help our members grow and excel in their careers.
