Job Description
IEM is looking for a Full Time Supervisor of General Reservists who will report directly to the division Manager of Humanitarian Response Operations (HERO). The Supervisor of General Reserves is responsible for the readiness (to deploy), training, scheduling, and supervision of the General Reserves (i.e., part-time employees). The Supervisor of General Reserves will coordinate with the Project Management Team to ensure the General Reservist cadre is ready to deploy with 24-48 hours of notice.
Primary Location:
- Candidates can originate from anywhere in the United States.
- This position may require work to be conducted remote from home, may require travel to and work onsite (various client locations) and may require work on some weekends/holidays.
- Jobs sites are subject to change or be added based on client needs and continued employment requires you to be able to work on site.
- Travel <10%.
Essential Functions:
- Supervise the General Reservist cadre of part-time employees, providing high quality leadership and guidance
- Serves as primary point of contact between General Reservists and the Project Management Team
- Maintains scheduled availability for all General Reservists via MS Teams, Excel, Power BI or other appropriate platforms and briefs Division Manager and Director weekly or as otherwise required.
- Work with Talent Acquisitions to recruit new General Reservists, as needed.
- Develops training plans and training materials alongside Subject Matter Experts and Project Management teams to ensure General Reservists are prepared to deploy
- Maintain Everbridge notification platform.
- Write annual performance evaluations on General Reservists
- Assists the Manager of HERO with business development and business proposals.
- Upon need, may be asked to deploy short notice to support project work.
- Ensures General Reservists have the tools required to perform their jobs – including appropriate equipment, supplies and training.
- Work with Human Resources and other internal entities to ensure procedures and guidelines related to the General Reservists are codified via standard operating procedures, plans, job aids, guides, etc., to align with the division’s goals, objectives.
- During large response or project mobilizations, the Supervisor of General Reserves may also be delegated the responsibilities of:
- Coordinates recruitment of new HERO project staff.
- Provides deployment oversight during mobilization phase until steady state achieved with client and project staff.
- Provides logistics support and oversight during response and steady state operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned or delegated by the Humanitarian Response Operations division Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
- Three years of relevant experience that includes leading small to medium sized teams.
- Project Management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in emergency management and disaster response, public health, and/or disaster recovery is desired.
- Experience deploying for response and recovery clients.
- Experience managing teams & writing proposals.
