BUSINESS TRAVEL CLUB
The HRS Business Travel Club (BTC) is the Business Unit managing and developing the HRS E-Commerce platforms of the well-known hotel portal businesses of HRS.de and HOTEL.DE that gradually transform into much more than “just” a platform. BTC provides its members, individual business travelers and SMEs, with a distinct range of exclusive services, which shape tomorrow´s upgraded travel experience. The goal of BTC is to deliver growth as well as sustainable profitability over time by enhancing customer loyalty between the brand and its customers, enabling the Brands Repositioning in the marketplace and unlocking additional potentials via optimized supplier management. Thus, BTC and its products, plays an important role in HRS´s DACH strategy as it revolves around a disruption of the interplay between hotel and workplace supply and e-commerce and a domination of the Business Travel DACH market. Your mission is to further develop and shape the "The HRS Business Travel Club" and its solutions and make it the next innovation of the HRS Group together with a great team.
POSITION
As the Engineering Manager for the HRS Group's E-Commerce business unit, you'll lead the development of our technical vision, ensuring that our solutions are scalable and reliable. You will lead dynamic engineering teams, fostering innovation and excellence, while working closely with product managers to align our product roadmap with business and customer needs. Your role will be critical in driving both the strategic and operational aspects of our engineering efforts to deliver impactful solutions.
CHALLENGE
- Develop and implement the medium and long-term architectural vision and technical direction to deliver highly available and scalable solutions.
- Lead the engineering teams in building and operating large-scale, mission-critical systems using advanced technologies.
- Set a high bar for technical and operational excellence in terms of scalability, latency, observability and uptime.
- Ensure the operational quality and compliance of team owned services, suggesting improvements where necessary.
- Manage the engineering teams, facilitating collaboration, communication and decision making between the engineering team, product specialists and stakeholders.
- Work with product owners and engineering teams to influence product strategy, develop roadmaps, identifying and planning for capacity requirements.
- Collaborate with product managers to understand business performance and customer experience to create impactful solutions.
- Coach and develop the engineering team, focusing on continuous improvement and career development.
FOR THIS EXCITING MISSION YOU ARE EQUIPPED WITH...
- At least 5 years of experience in leading and developing high performing software engineering teams, preferably in an international context.
- Proficient in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages, with extensive knowledge of REST APIs and building scalable, resilient microservice environments.
- Demonstrated ability to champion development processes and best practices, such as merge requests, approvals, definition of read with a keen interest in process optimisation and automation.
- Experience in building developer-facing tools and services, with a focus on producing excellent technical documentation.
- Data-driven approach to engineering, using metrics to inform design decisions and evaluate results.
- Customer-focused, with a proven track record of initiating and leading continuous improvement efforts.
- Passionate about mentoring and coaching software engineers, improving their skills and encouraging professional growth.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken

LOCATION, MOBILITY, INCENTIVE
The attractive remuneration is in line with the market and, in addition to a fixed monthly salary, all necessary work equipment and mobility, will also include an annual or multi-year bonus.
