  • Assist in leading and shaping the design center of excellence for all Holman Product Platforms.

Platform Design:

Scope and oversee the development lifecycle and deployment of major and minor system innovations, enhancements, features and functionality for all Holman Platforms and Applications.

  • Requirements Documentation: Researches each project assignment with business and IT stakeholders to ensure all internal and external end users’ needs are met.

  • Market Research: Conducts a market research study to fully understand, gather ideas and learn from similar products existing inside and outside of the fleet management industry from a design perspective.

  • Platform Design Process: Manage the end-to-end design process (problem, solution, implementation) including creation of design concepts, developing interactive prototypes, devising, and conducting experiments and delivering applications. Maintain a consistent design system for our various platforms rooted by the four key principles: evidence, iteration, expertise and inclusion.

    • Approach: Take a data-driven, empirical approach to platform design.

    • Evaluation: Help identify platform design needs from a potential and/or existing users and help drive the formulation of hypotheses and solutions.

    • Creation: Work with development to help push rapid iteration on Holman platforms and achieve performance targets by making real-time decisions on platform design specifications. Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas to the team.

    • Deployment: Create and distribute publications such as “What’s New” broadcasts to internal and external users to provide communication around platform changes and enhancements. Works with Platform Management and the operational business team members to create transition plans for rolling out enhancements.

  • Customer Experience: Advance the CX Vision by aligning with Holman’s CX Team to look for ways to improve customer experience through the effective use of CX principles, research, and documentation such as CX technology improvement plans, customer journey mapping, CX measurements and ROI models.

  • SCRUM based Agile Development Lifecycle Management: Writes a formal business requirements document to be approved by the platform management team and used / referenced by business and IT stakeholders as well as the development teams to fully understand and outline the project. Works directly with development, the business and other IT stakeholders to create and adhere to project timelines. Attend all ceremonies and weekly sprint meetings during the design and development phases of projects to provide direction and input to the development team as the weekly sprint tasks are reviewed.

  • Azure Dev Ops Board / Sprint / Task Management: Works with SCRUM master and/or PMO and Development to ensure all weekly sprint tasks are logged and updated. Ensure compliance to timelines, tasks, and updates are met.

  • Project Status Communication: Works with Development during weekly sprint sessions to assess project health and make course correction recommendations while keeping stakeholders and leadership updated on changes to scope and project timelines.

  • Organizational Collaboration: Collaborate and communicate effectively with all Platform Management & Design team members and all other IT and Holman Organizational Teams.

  • Platform Support: Tackle complex technical problems and work to help users feel more confident using our applications. Responsively and effectively handle issues. Assist in educating and training the Helpdesk and Sales & Training Teams regarding new system features and functionality to set the project deployment up for success.

  • Platform Feedback: Creates and implements feedback tracking procedures.

  • Other Responsibilities:

    • Activities - Client & Prospect Meetings and Webcasts

    • Complete online webcasts, onsite & offsite presentations or trainings of our client facing systems for our clients/prospects when advised. Travel can be required and not limited to any specific days during a calendar year.

    • Proper preparation with Sales and/or Client Relations to ensure a successful meeting.

    • Document conversations on shared resource site.

    • Report on any client issues and provide support in determining the solution.

    • This may include small project lists when many items are documented during the meeting.

    • Complete any follow-ups with Sales when advised.

  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as IT Disciplines, Business, Graphic Design, HCI, Visual Communication, Technical Writing or UX Design are helpful)

  • Additional education, certifications, or other distinctions are a plus.

    • SCRUM certification

    • AGILE Development

    • SDLC Documentation

    • PMP Certification

    • UX/UI Design Certification

    • CX Certification

  • Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)

  • Familiar with all Holman platforms and applications

  • Experience with Azure Dynamics, Figma/Uizard, PL/SQL

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a designer; experience designing technical solutions for the automotive or fleet industry is an asset.

  • An outstanding portfolio, showcasing a foundation in typography, interaction, visual design, and ideation.

  • Demonstrated ability to pull together a cross-functional team and lead a productive ideation session.

  • Experience turning static wireframes and designs into interactive flows using various prototyping tools such as Figma and Uizard.

  • Experience testing designs through usability and regression testing methods.

  • Experience designing for both Android and iOS app based mobile devices.

  • Experience tracking and interpreting metrics to support design decisions.

  • Experience working in an agile environment is an asset.

  • Experience in a client-facing role including virtual and in-person interaction is preferred.

  • Experience as a technical writer is helpful.

  • Experience leading customer research and other open-ended research inquiries is helpful.

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $81,210.00 - $117,760.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay earnings.
