The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2300 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Mission Statement:

Responsible for providing order management services to clients. Activities include helping clients to handle order quoting, order processing; order fulfilment, review of orders, order entry, order dispatch & support, order payment etc. for their customers. Ensures timely release of orders and a fulfilment of pre-established standards and policies to achieve customer satisfaction. Monitors and resolves order issues and processing errors.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing customer specifications to identify tender requirements (technical and commercial). Developing tender specification deviation sheet and propose appropriate solution prior to tender creation.

  • Creating accurate cost estimates. Creating sales tender including sales price and agreed commercial terms and conditions.

  • Supporting business development managers from a tendering point of view and work together as 1 team.

  • Ensuring on-time tender submittal as per customer request bid submission date. Participating in risk reviews where you are the tender responsible.

  • Entering and maintaining accurate tender information throughout the entire deal lifecycle. Providing tender support during bid revision or negotiation.

  • Tracking status of owned tenders to ensure maximum customer responsiveness. Ensuring on time communication with all tender stakeholders.

  • Preparing handover documentation. Preparing success story as per template. Preparing and hand over internal work-order documents. Order booking, preparing and hand over internal work-order documents.

  • Assessing data from a variety of sources to gain insights into pricing strategies and market trends. Analyzing competitor pricing and market trends to increase market share and profitability.

  • Tracking customer engagement to develop effective pricing strategies for products and offerings. Recommending pricing strategies that align closely with market trends and identifying new market segments.

  • Forecasting revenue and market share based on market trends, production costs, profit margins, and sales volumes. Collaborating with sales and marketing departments on developing and implementing competitive pricing strategies.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical and mechanical engineering.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as senior bid specialist, product marketing specialist, project manager and sales operation.

  • Experience in various tools used for data entry to provide end to end deal lifecycle visibility.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines. Ability to maintain internal and external communication to avoid negative feedback.

  • Complex functional matrix organization where you take accountability for your work.

  • Strong communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration.

  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
