The opportunity
We are searching for a talented Local Sales Managerto lead and develop the UK sales organization. To deliver profitable, customer-centric growth. Strengthen market position, expand engagement across priority segments, and ensure disciplined execution of the commercial strategy to support the UK’s energy transition. You will inspire and develop a high-performing team while embedding best practices and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. In parallel deliver strong commercial results through optimized sales productivity, strategic customer relationships, and value-based solutions that position the company as a trusted partner in the energy transition.
How you’ll make an impact
- Define and execute a UK sales strategy fully aligned with global business objectives.
- Drive market growth across renewables, grid modernization, e-mobility, data centers, and industrial sectors.
- Position Hitachi Energy as a trusted partner in the energy transition by identifying emerging opportunities.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing sales team (direct leadership of 5, indirect influence over ~30).
- Embed best practices, coach talent, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Achieve annual order targets while ensuring profitable growth across all product lines and services.
- Optimize sales productivity and channel performance for maximum impact.
- Elevate customer experience and satisfaction through continuous NPS improvement.
- Build strategic relationships with key customers and stakeholders to strengthen market presence.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to anticipate shifts and adapt quickly.
- Champion customer-centric solutions and value-based selling to deliver measurable outcomes.
- Ensure alignment with global pricing, cost efficiency, and compliance standards.
- Leverage digital tools (CRM, analytics) to enhance forecasting and data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications
- Degree and preferably Master’s in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Extensive experience in sales leadership within industrial or energy sectors.
- Proven track record in driving growth and leading transformations in complex, matrixed organizations.
- Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to influence at senior levels.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
