Hector Benitez is a front-end engineer passionate about taking ideas and coding them into reality. He is a developer who is eager to create and build applications, whether independently or as part of a team, constantly seeking ways to grow and learn as a developer. Building web applications has brought purpose to his life. Originally an LA native, Hector graduated from Syracuse University with a B.A. in Psychology. He later completed UPenn's Full Stack development program, receiving a certificate as a M.E.R.N. stack developer. In June/July 2020, he began working with Johnson & Johnson as a Front-End Developer. Currently, Hector is a Software Engineer at ANSOL, inc. Even with his position at ANSOL, inc., he strives to keep up to date with modern tech and languages.
Hector's professional focus includes writing internal technical documents for tools and workflows, developing greenfield projects for the Department of Defense, refactoring legacy code to ES6/modern frameworks, and fleshing out passion projects. His goals include expanding his network, continuing to lead projects, converting projects to use Typescript, and increasing his public commits to personal projects. Beyond his development work, Hector enjoys rock climbing, binge-watching Anime, listening to music, and geeking out over new potential projects with new frameworks. He moved back to California after living on the East Coast since 2014. He encourages collaboration and is open to being contacted for projects or employment opportunities.
