Are you ready to save the planet?

We will help prevent a climate crisis by freeing the world from fossil fuels. Our breakthrough direct air capture technology captures CO2 from the atmosphere and produces hydrogen in parallel.

The clock is ticking. What are you waiting for?

How you'll contribute

You'll play a crucial role in our Hardware Engineering team, bringing your deep experience in mechanical design to implement groundbreaking products and good design practice to how we streamline, assemble and test these products.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end to end design of all systems in our plant design, while mentoring guiding and growing a team of engineers who support you.
  • Choose process components such as sensors, valves, pumps and vessels according to requirements and translate into physical products.
  • Manage mechanical design projects, including initial factory ideation, machine commissioning and eventual hand-off to manufacturing or test engineering.
  • Rapidly iterate on system designs and integrations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Own the process of creating component and assembly drawings, ensuring all customer requirements are met.
  • Lead design reviews internally and externally with suppliers and customers.
  • Be responsible for project delivery timeline from early design through production, commissioning and maintenance.
  • Exemplify technical excellence and be accountable for your work.

Here's what the first 12 months in the role could look like:

Months 0-3: Your initial focus will be on finding design methods for our critical system components including our Electrolysis and Absorption Tower. Furthermore you will be working on selecting and integrating components (e.g. pumps, valves, sensors) based on based on process requirements choosing materials suited to our unique process conditions, collaborating with experts from component suppliers.

Months 3-6: During this phase you’ll take over technical responsibility of commercial projects with a clear roadmap towards industrialization including CE certification. You'll tackle "scale-up" plant studies, engage with customers and investors, lead "design-to-manufacturing" projects for mission-critical components, and mentor a team of junior designers through rigorous and rapid design cycles.

Months 6-12: You proactively define future iterations of plants through modular design concepts and implementation to meet the company milestone of 0.1 Gigatons of CO2 pa until 2050. Furthermore, you are the key enabler for series production both inhouse and with external suppliers. Providing the vision, you tackle future issues before they grow into something even bigger.
