Founded in 2023 by a team of technical leaders from Monzo Bank, we’ve quickly gone from an idea to a growing team with customers you know (and probably love). Our AI agent helps businesses handle even the trickiest, high-stakes customer support queries safely and effectively, all while giving them the visibility and control they need to trust the outcomes.
We’re still a small team (20 people) made up of people who’ve worked at Monzo, Pleo, Google and other leading tech companies. Our office is just a short walk from Liverpool Street Station, and most of us come in 2–3 days a week to collaborate and catch up.

You’ll be at the heart of our efforts to attract, hire and support exceptional talent across Gradient Labs. This role is about more than just hiring, it’s about building a high-performing, impact-driven, and deeply collaborative team.
Own and run end-to-end hiring processes across engineering, AI/ML, data and beyond.
Hone in on hard-to-find, high-impact people - the kind who raise the bar, love solving tough problems and make everyone around them better. You’ll be partnering closely with our founders and engineers on what great looks like for each role and figure out the best way to find those people.
Build and improve our talent brand so that candidates know who we are, what we care about, and why Gradient is the place to do the best work of their career.
Be open to jumping into people operations and wider team projects - from refining compensation frameworks and onboarding playbooks to helping strengthen a culture that’s high-trust and energising and making sure it continues to scale with us.
Help us create a brilliant candidate experience - thoughtful, fast and personal - where people leave impressed even if they don’t get the job.

Has experience hiring technical roles end to end in engineering and AI/ML, within a high-growth or startup environment.
Is a strong, thoughtful communicator and a natural relationship builder.
Is creative and resourceful in how they find and engage great people. You love the chase and you know that the best candidates often aren’t looking.
Is excited to flex across recruitment and people operations. This is our first talent hire, so you’ll shape how things work.
Thrives working autonomously with a strong bias for action and knows how to prioritise the highest-impact work.

💸 The details
Location: London-based (our office is close to Liverpool Street Station)
Salary: £70–85k plus equity. This range is depending on experience but we’re open to different seniority levels, so please get in touch if you have different expectations
