The Power BI Solutions Specialist is a senior individual contributor role within the Global MI/Data Analytics function, serving as the primary subject-matter expert for all Power BI-related engagements.
Unlike a conventional BI developer, this role operates at the intersection of business consulting and technical delivery: it shapes solutions from the earliest stages of requirements gathering through to internal quality assurance, while simultaneously driving innovation by tracking and adopting emerging capabilities within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.
Based in Poland, the role will operate on a fully remote basis.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the primary Power BI subject-matter expert (SME) engaged at the earliest stages of client and internal projects, ensuring that analytical requirements are correctly understood before any development work begins.
- Evaluate client data landscapes, processes, and reporting maturity to recommend the most appropriate Power BI architecture – including data model design, report topology, row-level security strategy, and licensing considerations.
- Translate approved solution designs into detailed developer briefs covering data model specifications, DAX patterns, visual standards, naming conventions, and performance expectations.
- Conduct briefing sessions with BI developers at project kick-off, ensuring full alignment on scope, approach, and acceptance criteria before development commences.
- Provide ongoing technical mentorship and subject-matter support throughout the development cycle, resolving ambiguities and guiding developers on complex Power BI challenges.
- Own the internal QA gate for all Power BI deliverables prior to submission for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring that solutions meet both the agreed business requirements and technical quality standards.
- Continuously monitor the Microsoft Power BI and Fabric release cadence, evaluating new features – including AI visuals, Copilot integration, Direct Lake mode, Dataflow Gen2, and Semantic Link.
- Lead the adoption of AI-assisted analytics within Power BI, including natural language Q&A configuration, anomaly detection, smart narrative visuals, and the integration of Azure OpenAI capabilities via Power Automate and Dataflow pipelines.
- Serve as the senior Power BI point of contact for both internal teams and external clients throughout the project lifecycle, from initial scoping through to post-delivery support.

- Strong working knowledge of Power Query (M language), SSRS, and the broader Microsoft data stack.
- Experience briefing, guiding, or mentoring BI developers.
- Excellent communication skills – able to translate technical detail for non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- High attention to detail and rigorous approach to data accuracy.
Desirable Requirements
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and its integration with Power BI.
- Hands-on experience with Power Automate for BI workflow automation and scheduled alerting.
