Backend Software Engineer

Location Details:

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a hybrid position. You’ll divide your time between working remotely from your home and an office, so you should live within commuting distance. Hybrid teams may work in-office as much as a few times a week or as little as once a month or quarter, as decided by leadership. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to assist in building and strengthening our new-generation Risk platform. GoDaddy is a global products seller to customers from all over the world. This makes GoDaddy a primary target for any kind of fraud and abuse activity. GoDaddy’s Risk Platform is responsible for stopping such activities and also forecasting and preventing any future activity across the entire GoDaddy Software. If building Anti-fraud software capabilities, out-of-the-box thinking, cloud-based technologies, and Machine learning sounds exciting to you then you are made for the role!

What you'll get to do...

• You will build a secure, highly available, fault-tolerant, and globally performant micro-services-based platform deployed on the AWS cloud that uses the newest technology stack
• Write efficient, maintainable code following best practices, and ensure code quality through extensive unit and integration testing
• You will work in a scrum team and join forces with other specialists, product managers, architects, and operations teams from within and outside of the eCommerce group

Your experience should include...

• 5+ years in a Software engineering role and building large-scale distributed applications or solutions
• Strong experience in Java and, or, React programming language
• Strong foundational knowledge of data structures, software designs, microservices, and containers
• 3+ years of Cloud computing experience using publicly available services, AWS is an advantage
• Experience with relational and No-SQL databases
• Experience in writing units, integration, and smoke tests
• Experience building CI/CD and server/deployment automation solutions

You may also have...

• Familiarity with version control software, Git is helpful
• Familiarity with application performance monitoring tools such as New Relic, ElasticAPM, or Datadog
• Passion for developing sophisticated and groundbreaking solutions for real-world business problems
• Strong desire to learn and to grow
