We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mainframe DevOps Engineer to join our global automotive team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and automation of critical mainframe application environments, supporting some of the world’s leading automotive clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability, streamline batch processing, and manage end-to-end DevOps workflows on mainframe platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mainframe Development & Automation:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using PL/I, COBOL, REXX, and JCL.
- Implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Batch Job Scheduling & Monitoring:
- Manage and schedule batch jobs using OPC/TWS.
- Monitor and troubleshoot batch operations with tools like ezScheduler and ezMonitor.
- Database Management:
- Work with DB2 and PostgreSQL databases.
- Use DBeaver for accessing and managing PostgreSQL tables within applications.
- Incident & Change Management:
- Handle incidents, problems, and change requests through ServiceNow.
- Document procedures, fixes, and runbooks in Confluence
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in PL/I, COBOL, REXX, JCL, and batch job scheduling.
- Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with OpenText HostExplorer, SCMS, IBM Developer for z/OS, and Innovator for Information Architects for data modeling.
- ITSM & Documentation: Skilled in ITSM tools (ServiceNow), documentation platforms (Confluence), and project tracking tools (Jira).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, effective problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a DevOps-driven environment.
- Experience in the automotive domain or a similar industry.
- Familiarity with SCRUM, ITIL, or other IT process frameworks.
