Who You Are
As an Engineering Manager on the Forms team, you will manage people, processes, and technology to ensure the Forms product is serving our customers well and projects are delivered on time and within specifications.
Guiding and supporting the people on your team is critical to success. This includes holding regular 1:1 conversations, determining and implementing growth paths, and holding them accountable for technical and cultural performance.
Identifying and driving process improvements will ensure high productivity and low frustration during the Software Development Life Cycle. This includes collaborating with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Designers, Developers, and external stakeholders to ensure clarity, consensus, and commitment to high-performing processes.
Prioritizing and planning technology changes will ensure the team is working with the best tools possible. The Forms product is over 15 years old and requires constant maintenance in addition to new feature enhancements. Understanding what technical debt to address and what to defer will strike the best balance.
What You Will Do
- You will work across multiple teams and disciplines to scope, plan, and manage projects through delivery. You have great attention to detail and enjoy keeping track of the who, what, when, where, and why.
- You will collaborate with other teams and customers to ensure their needs are understood and prioritized.
- You will manage scrum ceremonies to ensure the team runs smoothly (daily standup, backlog refinement, sprint review, sprint retrospective, sprint planning, etc.)
- You will help manage the details and organization of the team’s Jira backlog.
- You set measurable goals for yourself and others. You will build and track team and individual metrics to ensure progress is visible and measurable.
- You will understand and uphold our cultural values and ensure they are woven into decision-making
- You will work asynchronously with staff across departments and timezones
- You will manage the on-call duty roster for your team on a rotating schedule
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of successful leadership experience in a remote software development team
- Excellent project management skills. Ability to help plan the technical part of a release from start to finish
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Superb organization skills and process management
- Ability to work remotely and with remote team members
- You can work independently and also work well within a team environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Comfortable with agile methodologies scrum
- Passion for quality with the discernment to know what matters most
- Ability to mentor and lead a small team
- Ability to run effective meetings
- Ability to communicate complex subjects effectively with non-technical people and groups
- Ability to travel (10%) for team meetups, conferences, etc.
- Experience working remotely with team members across multiple time zones to build camaraderie and productivity
- Willing to understand and commit to our company values
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English
- Willingness and desire to learn and embrace new web technologies as they evolve

- Experience working and managing remote teams over multiple time zones
- Experience using JIRA, Product Board, Looker, Snyk, OpsGenie or similar softwares

Salary
- Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 USD/year
- Plus a potential annual bonus of up to 10% of the salary.
- This is a target starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and projected impact.
