About the role:

As a Business Systems Analyst/ Agile Product Owner, you’ll act as the voice of the customer to ensure that our teams continue to deliver more best-in-breed products that advance the way we pay, bank and invest. You’ll work as part of a team and will be self-motivated, proactive and innovative. You will work closely with our clients in the banking and cards issuing space to analyse and understand their requirements and business needs. This role will ideally be based in Melbourne working remotely, with availability to work in CBD when required. There is some flexibility for it to be based elsewhere in Australia.

What you will be doing:

  • Analysing business and user needs, completing documentation of requirements and translating into proper system requirement specifications.
  • Documenting functional solutions for system enhancements and improvements, compliance/regulatory changes and product strategy.
  • Supporting internal and client projects/initiatives that may entail identifying requirements and solutions, working through issues in preparation of system implementation.
  • Identifying/documenting how applications and systems interact to support business processes.
  • Formulating and defining system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
  • Assessing, applying and projecting the impact of system changes on users and internal and external clients or stakeholders.
  • Identifying strategies as well as improvement opportunities while also reengineering processes for greater efficiency.
  • Conducting/reviewing a variety of tests such as system, integration, readiness and acceptance tests to ensure changes made by programmers are correct and client needs are met.
  • Guiding development teams to create and deliver software applications that meet business, client and company goals.
  • Monitoring the development progress and providing updates to stakeholders, as requested.
  • Preparing and distributing compliance software release reports and documentation. Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure information regarding the release and associated activities are communicated.

What you bring:

To excel in this role you will have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar Business and System analysis and support capacity
  • Experience in the card payments space, including credit, debit, and prepaid card issuing systems and processes such as exception processing, authorisations and scheme compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to engage well with clients
  • Proficient technical writing capabilities
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organisation
  • Strong teamwork skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple activities occurring concurrently

Added bonus if you have:

  • Prior experience working on P1C, BASE2000, or BASE Global platforms would be highly regarded.
