The Opportunity

"As Vice President of Technology Operations, you'll serve as the operating backbone that connects product strategy, architectural direction, and engineering execution to customer value and business outcomes. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for a leader who thrives in complexity, earns trust across organizational boundaries, and knows how to drive alignment without creating bureaucracy.

You'll work at the intersection of product, engineering, and architecture, building and running the systems, processes, and cadences that enable these deeply connected functions to operate at their best. FICO's platform is at an important inflection point — we are investing in architecture and platform capabilities that will power the next decade of customer outcomes, and this role exists because we believe the right operational leader can meaningfully accelerate how fast and how confidently we ship, adopt, and scale. This is a role for someone who wants to build, not just manage, who sees operational infrastructure as a product, and who measures their own success by the speed and confidence of the teams around them." - VP, Global Software Strategy and Operations

What You'll Contribute

  • Drive engineering capacity planning, resource management, delivery risk visibility, and cross-team dependency resolution.

  • Oversee roadmap intake, confidence reporting, and trade-off decision support to enable informed executive decision-making.

Release & Architecture Governance

  • Own Release Management by defining release content and business value and governing whether a release is fit and approved for General Availability.

  • Maintain architecture governance, decision records, and technical risk assessment across major platform initiatives.

  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to ensure release governance and architecture decisions reflect FICO's regulatory and risk obligations.

  • Drive customer migration planning, sequencing, and value realization for the most strategic accounts.

  • Oversee process and workflow optimization across technology teams to accelerate delivery and improve outcomes.

Insights & Decision Support

  • Build and maintain insights, dashboards, and executive decision-support narratives that drive accountability and action in partnership with the Software Insights team.

  • Manage the product execution environment across Aha, Jira, GitHub, and the Product Database, ensuring standards, governance, and data integrity.

  • Define and track metrics that enable speed and confidence across all operational functions.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of technical operations leaders and specialists with clear career paths and accountability.

  • Build a culture of psychological safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across all functions.

  • Partner closely with leaders across Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Global PMO to ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration.

What We're Seeking

What began in 1956 as a visionary idea between an engineer, Bill Fair, and a mathematician, Earl Isaac, has blossomed into a global standard for credit risk assessment and a powerhouse in analytics software. Fair, Isaac and Company, as it was originally known, embarked on a mission to revolutionize how lending decisions were made. The duo, who met while working at the Stanford Research Institute, believed that data and mathematical algorithms could provide a more objective and reliable measure of creditworthiness than traditional, often subjective, methods. Two years after its founding, the company sold its first credit scoring system, marking the initial step in a journey that would fundamentally change the financial services industry. They pitched their innovative system to fifty American lenders, laying the groundwork for widespread adoption.

The company went public in July 1987, trading on the New York Stock Exchange, a testament to its growing influence and the increasing recognition of the value of its analytical approach. A pivotal moment arrived in 1989 with the debut of the first general-purpose FICO® Score. This score, based on credit report data, provided a standardized metric for lenders to assess consumer credit risk, quickly becoming an indispensable tool. The impact was profound; by 1995, major entities like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac began using FICO® Scores to determine mortgage eligibility, solidifying its role in the American lending landscape. Over the decades, FICO, which officially changed its name to Fair Isaac Corporation in 2003, has continued to innovate, expanding its offerings beyond credit scoring to a comprehensive suite of analytics software and tools. These solutions help businesses across various industries manage risk, combat fraud, build stronger customer relationships, and optimize operations. Headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, FICO's influence extends worldwide, with its technologies and scores utilized in over 100 countries, empowering billions of decisions annually and shaping the way businesses and consumers interact in the global economy.
