Summary:

We are seeking a Technical Hyperion/EPM Planning Developer to design, build, and optimize Hyperion/EPM applications with a focus on integrations, automation, and performance tuning. This role will partner with Finance teams in delivering high-performing Oracle Hyperion/EPM solutions that support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This role focuses on designing planning applications, building calculation logic, maintaining metadata, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Development & Support

  • Design, develop, and maintain Hyperion Planning applications, Essbase cubes, calculation scripts, and business rules.
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into Oracle EPM application configurations.
  • Configure Oracle EPM applications based on business needs, including defining hierarchies, dimensions, and data mappings.
  • Build and manage metadata, hierarchies, forms, and Smart View reports for end users.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and planning cycles by ensuring timely and accurate system availability.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and provide ongoing support to Finance and Accounting users.
  • Collaborate with Oracle support or other relevant teams to resolve complex system problems.
  • Implement fixes or workarounds to address system issues and minimize downtime.

Integration & Data Management

  • Develop and manage data integrations between Hyperion/EPM and ERP (Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Cloud ERP, or other systems).
  • Build and optimize ETL processes using FDMEE, ODI, or other integration tools.
  • Monitor and validate data loads, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across systems.
  • Automate recurring data processes and metadata updates with scripts and scheduling tools.

Finance Partnership & Reporting

  • Partner with Finance and FP&A teams to gather requirements and translate them into Hyperion solutions.
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting packages (Smart View, Hyperion Financial Reporting, dashboards).
  • Provide training and documentation for Finance end users to maximize adoption.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Hyperion/EPM Planning and Essbase within Finance projects.

System Optimization & Governance

  • Perform system tuning and optimization to improve application performance.
  • Support system upgrades, patches, migrations, routine system maintenance tasks and environment refreshes.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security, audit, and data governance standards.
  • Maintain detailed technical and process documentation.
  • Administer user access and security permissions within the Oracle EPM system.
  • Configure system settings, including data integrations, workflows, and automation rules.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and supporting Oracle Hyperion applications (Planning, Essbase, HFM, or related) & Oracle EPM applications.
  • Strong technical expertise in Essbase cube design, calc scripts, load rules, and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with Hyperion Planning (forms, business rules, Smart View, web).
  • Proficiency in configuring Oracle EPM applications, such as Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (PBCS) or Oracle Hyperion Planning.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting tools, such as Oracle Financial Reporting (FR) or Oracle Smart View.
  • Knowledge of financial processes (budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, reporting).
  • Strong SQL skills with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Experience with ETL/data integration tools (FDMEE, ODI, or equivalent).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with both Finance and IT stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Oracle EPM Cloud applications (EPBCS, FCCS, PCMCS).
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (VB, Python, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Prior involvement in Hyperion migrations, upgrades, or cloud transitions.
  • Certifications in Oracle Hyperion/EPM products or project management.
