Since our founding in 1993 by Ken Cook and Richard Wiles, we have grown into a community of over 30 million strong, working diligently to change outdated industry standards and promote consumer safety. EWG is a non-partisan nonprofit organization that focuses on various critical public health issues, such as unsafe food additives, water contamination, and harmful substances in household products. Our efforts have led to groundbreaking research and advocacy that tackles the regulatory barriers preventing safer consumer products, ultimately fostering a healthier environment for generations to come.
