About Eugene

The power to predict and prevent health issues is in our DNA. Eugene’s purpose is to empower every person to act on this knowledge.

Today, we offer at-home medical grade genetic testing, combined with a genetic counselling service to help people predict and prevent health issues before they happen. Tomorrow, we’re working toward creating a world where we can sequence your DNA once and provide you with guidance for life.

Since we launched in 2018, we’ve supported thousands of people across Australia, released an Australia first medicare-covered genetic test and are backed by some of the best and brightest health-tech investors.

Eugene is a remote-first organisation, allowing you to work anywhere within Australia, or in-person at our office in Richmond, Victoria.

About the role

We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to take our product management practice to the next level. You’re an entrepreneurial and creative problem solver looking to dive into new challenges daily and can communicate effectively across all levels and functions within the organisation.

You’ll be comfortable working with ambiguity, understand the complexity of health-tech and are excited to navigate the trade-offs between moving fast and managing the inherent risk and compliance that comes with delivering healthcare as a rapidly scaling organisation.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work collaboratively to deliver on the vision and strategy for our software products, own the roadmap & collaborate with a talented cross-functional team to build a product that our customers love.

  • Drive the vision and strategy by developing a deep understanding of our business goals, our customers and the relationships across the diverse stakeholder groups we serve (end users, doctors, enterprise partners and internal team).
  • Manage prioritisation, communication and organisational alignment of the product roadmap.
  • Drive the full product management cycle for the roadmap: Discovery, Validation, Development, Launch and Measure/Iterate.
  • Work collaboratively with design, engineering, leadership, growth, clinical and operations on new zero to one initiatives as well as optimising and scaling current products.
  • Anticipate our customer needs, translating them into actionable product requirements and features.
  • Be a strong advocate for a data-driven approach to improving customer experience, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative research methods to understand our customer’s needs.
  • Player to coach - this is a hands on role that’ll evolve over time. To begin, you’ll wear many hats, whether its product manager, product owner or scrum master. As the company and the role evolves, we’ll want you to lead the team, manage the function and take ownership of the product management practice at Eugene.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product, design or engineering teams.
  • Experience in health or health-tech industries is preferred but not required.
  • Thrive in ambiguity: You love tackling ambiguous problems in a fast-paced environment with an optimistic and energising attitude.
  • Excellent communicator: A big part of the job is managing a diverse stakeholder environment. You’re in your element when you’re talking “product” to non-product people.
  • Empathetic: You possess deep user empathy, have strong intuition on how they think, and love delighting them.
  • Results-driven: You are a master at digging into data, defining clear goals, running toward them & bringing your team along the way.
  • Appreciate quality: You have an exceptionally high bar for building incredible experiences.
  • Time management: You are excellent at prioritizing tasks and managing your time effectively. You're able to juggle multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders without dropping the ball.

Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, flexible work arrangements, a collaborative and inclusive work environment, and opportunities for career growth and development. Our benefits and perks include:

  • Generous parental leave policy, including additional support and flexibility for anyone with children or expecting.
