Java Software Engineer - Remote, Cyprus

We are seeking a Java Software Engineer to join our client's team, contributing to the integration and enhancement of software systems from recent acquisitions. This role requires a proactive approach to learning new technologies, maintaining legacy products during migration, and supporting the development of innovative solutions.

Our client is on a strong growth journey, having welcomed five new companies in 2024 alone. They now have a team of almost 200 professionals across multiple locations. As part of the Engineering team, you will initially support one of their most critical legacy systems. Over time, your role will evolve, offering opportunities to work at the forefront of modern software development as the business transitions to new platforms.

Salary: 45K to 60K euro gross/year (depending on experience)
Location: Remote - Candidates must be based in Cyprus 

Essential Qualifications:

• Degree in Software Development or a related field.
• at least four years of experience working with Java (C# language or JavaScript would be an advantage).
• Hands-on experience working with APIs.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications, ensuring high-quality standards and efficient performance.
• Engage in code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and enhance software solutions.
• Collaborate in sprint planning, estimate task durations, and communicate potential challenges.
