Layout Checker (Proofreader)

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Layout Checker to join our client's team. The Layout Checker will be responsible for reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of print and digital layouts before final production. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong knowledge of design principles, and the ability to spot errors in typography, spacing, and overall layout consistency.

Responsibilities:

• Compare original marked-up material with print outs and mark corrections on the print out using standard edit notations
• Check for correct font usage, image resolution, and color accuracy.
• Ensure proper alignment and placement of design elements.
• Collaborate with designers and production staff to resolve any issues.
• Ensure that text, layout, and illustrations are accurate, culturally appropriate, and adhere to our design guidelines and client specifications.
• Ensure implementation of client updates
• Communicate in a timely and effective manner to resolve questions and to ensure that errors are properly corrected
• Perform final quality checks on page layout and deliverable products prior to delivery
• Reports quality finding
• Running XML Tagging of translation in preparation for composition task.

Qualifications:

• BA degree in English, Journalism, or related field preferred
• Good working knowledge of MS Office Applications, including file management through Windows Explorer
• Two years of experience proofreading or editing text; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Working knowledge of XML publishing production workflow / systems an advantage
• Knowledge of MS Word operation an advantage
• Fresh graduate are encouraged to apply
