The journey of Eagle Eye Networks began in 2012, born from the frustration of its founder, Dean Drako. As the founder and former CEO of Barracuda Networks, Drako experienced firsthand the complexities and limitations of existing video surveillance systems, especially when it came to remote management. He envisioned a world where video security was simpler, more accessible, and more powerful. This vision laid the groundwork for what would become the global leader in cloud video surveillance. The company, along with its inaugural product, the Eagle Eye Cloud Security Camera Video Management System, was officially introduced to the world in January 2014. From its inception, the focus was on intuitive design and user-friendliness, a stark contrast to the cumbersome systems that dominated the market.

The early years were marked by rapid growth and strategic partnerships. A significant milestone came in July 2014 with a multi-million dollar Series B funding round, which included an investment from Michael Dell's private venture fund, MSD Capital. This infusion of capital fueled the company's expansion, including the establishment of a new data center in Austin, Texas. In 2015, a pivotal alliance with Diebold was formed to deliver cloud-based video services, further solidifying Eagle Eye's position in the industry. Drako's strategic acquisition of Brivo, a cloud access control company, in the same year allowed for a powerful integration of technologies, pushing the boundaries of cloud-based security. Over the next decade, Eagle Eye Networks continued its upward trajectory, expanding its global footprint with offices in Amsterdam, Bangalore, and Tokyo, and raising over $100 million in funding to fuel further innovation in artificial intelligence and continue its mission to make businesses more efficient and the world a safer place through a secure, open, and intelligent video surveillance platform.
