Join us!

Our Product team is growing, and we’re excited to open a new opportunity for a skilled and experienced Product Engineer to join us.

As an important member of the product team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions that create value for our end-users.

We’re looking for someone who’s genuinely curious about customer needs and skilled at turning insights into meaningful product features and improvements. The role involves close collaboration across disciplines to ensure seamless integration and alignment with our business objectives.

We embrace the Shape Up method for working, focusing on building the right things in fixed cycles and betting on meaningful projects.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain high-quality, secure software solutions in line with our Product Development Process and Secure Software Development Lifecycle, ensuring they meet customer and end-user needs and business requirements while adhering to established best practices as well as company policies.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, providing timely and constructive feedback and suggestions to improve code quality and maintainability, and to further the skills of their peers.
  • Test, launch, refine, and troubleshoot product features, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal user experience in line with business objectives.
  • Continuously learn and stay updated on trends, technologies, and best practices to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the wider engineering team's skills and processes.
  • Communicate effectively with peers and stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of project status, technical challenges, and dependencies.

What you’ll bring to the Team

  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development, working with Ruby on Rails in a full-stack approach.
  • Infrastructure experience from AWS, Azure, or similar.
  • An ability to technically design, implement, and maintain scalable and high-quality APIs & web/PWA applications.
    • Native (iOS, Android) experience is a bonus but not required.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills; you will guide team members and peers, communicate with the overall organization, and document systems (English is our working language and needs to be mastered well)
  • Experience working side by side with business and product stakeholders, and thus a strong understanding of business and user requirements.
  • An understanding of either banking or payments would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with hybrid work environments and strong advocacy for hybrid work models, fostering productivity and collaboration across distributed teams

Our stack

  • Ruby on Rails (a single shiny monolith) and yes – Kamal
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Cloudflare
  • Datadog
  • We run it containerized (self-hosted) and as a SaaS, on-cloud

What we offer

  • Location & Employment Flexibility: This role can be structured as a consultancy within Europe (±2 hour CET), allowing you to work remotely with occasional travel to our Stockholm office for team-building activities, workshops, or project-specific tasks. Alternatively, if you are based in Stockholm, you can join as a Sweden-based employee with a hybrid setup, spending part of your week in our A-house Ark office, Östermalm, and part working remotely. Please note that we do not provide relocation support or visa sponsorship.
  • Team: Join a diverse, international team working in cross-functional groups.
  • Tools: Stay connected and manage projects efficiently using collaborative platforms like Slack, Miro, and Google Workspace. We will set you up with the latest Apple devices and equipment to support your best performance.

Additional benefits such as health and life insurance, pension, wellness allowance, and PTO are available depending on employment set-up, and will be discussed during the hiring process.

We have an ongoing recruitment process – if this role is online, it means it’s still open!
