You are responsible for delivering transformative media solutions, serving as a trusted advisor for C-suite clients, and orchestrating sustained business growth. You serve as the lead developer of integrated strategies and high-performing teams. You push teams and partners to go beyond the status quo and deliver innovative solutions that leverage the power of dentsu’s solutions to produce measurable business impact. This role can be remote, though preferred locations would be New York, Chicago or Atlanta.

In this role you must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of all aspects of your client’s business as well as the overall media landscape, from traditional and digital media planning and activation, to sponsorships and custom integrations, to the data and technology needs of data-driven, modern media.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the ultimate client and strategic leader for one of dentsu’s largest accounts, acting as the primary liaison with, and trusted advisor to, senior-most client leadership

  • Build and drive integrated solutions across dentsu capabilities (media and beyond) to maximize client impact and value and drive growth for the agency

  • Champion and understand client’s business and industry inside and out, and use that understanding to reframe client challenges into strategic media direction and opportunities that create a competitive advantage

  • Create and maintain a high-functioning, high-performing team that attracts top talent by demonstrating a culture of accountability, client centricity, compassion, and excellence

  • Build collaborative and trusted relationships in matrixed environments with a diverse array of internal and external partners, maintaining a strong pulse on dynamics to identify risks and opportunities early and action against them

  • Lead the P&L, including making sound commercial decisions without oversight, leading contract development and negotiations, and overseeing and optimizing staff plans

  • Lead operational excellence across all functions, with a strategic lens on needs and solutions across people, process, and technology, including AI, to maximize operational effectiveness, internal and external collaboration, and overall ways of working

  • Solve the tough problems and have the hard conversations – both internal and with clients

  • Accurately represent the client’s point of view when reviewing work, leveraging this perspective and strong communication skills to foster clear, compelling, and persuasive storytelling and presentations to clients

  • Manage and mentor Director to VP-level team members, including active coaching and career development

  • Hold teams accountable to dentsu’s principles and standards, and connect viewpoints of executive management and agency vision with the practical realities of the account’s day-to-day operations

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in relevant areas such as leading large-scale, complex regional or global client relationships, strategic media planning, and/or communications strategy

  • Meaningful retail experience, with proven ability to move at the speed of retail, understand omnichannel shopping behaviors and strategies, and use the rich customer data retail provides to power effective strategies

  • Deep knowledge and experience with multiple communication channels and their role in marketing, including both traditional and digital media channels and both national and local media

  • Deep knowledge and experience using data, technology, identity, and advanced measurement solutions to deliver data-driven, high-performing integrated marketing plans

  • Demonstrates mental agility to keep pace with fast speed of business – priorities change often and flexing beyond core competencies is expected

  • Proven ability to think strategically, with a balanced analytical and creative approach, and the ability to teach others to think strategically and solve complex problems

  • Proactive and effective storyteller and collaborator, with ability to persuade and bring together and positively influence diverse groups of team members and clients to achieve desired outcomes

  • Dynamic presence in presentations and communications

  • Proven ability to lead change in complex organizations and implement new operating models spanning across multiple marketing disciplines and/or markets

  • Strong commercial and strategic acumen, with a track record of delivering business impact

  • Proven leadership ability – experience managing, motivating, and developing large teams, including setting an inspirational and clear vision, and setting clear goals and career roadmaps that help employees achieve goals and grow
