Job Overview

Davies Claims North America is looking for a Human Resources Assistant who will be responsible for performing administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department. Reporting to the HR Manager, this position is a great opportunity to evolve within the HR organization, and the willingness to learn, grow, and develop is anticipated.

To be successful in this role, high level of customer service is critical when assisting teammates in a timely manner. The ideal candidate has at least three years of administrative assistance experience, and some exposure to working in a human resources department preferred. This role is a full time, home-based position; you must be suited to operating in a remote work environment free from disturbances and distractions.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Answer frequently asked questions from teammates relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, and more
  • Refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management
  • Onboard new teammates
  • Conduct or assist with new hire orientation
  • Prepare offboarding documents
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
  • Assist with payroll functions including answering employee questions, timecard reconciliation, fixing processing errors, and running reports as requested
  • Provide project and administrative support for the Claims Solutions HR Department

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

Required

  • 3 or more years of experience in an administrative role

Preferred

  • HR experience
  • Two years of college or an associate degree

  • Superb communication skills, verbal and written, conducted in a timely manner
  • Superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Excellent team player with interpersonal skills
  • High level attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of working collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
  • Exhibit discretion with sensitive and confidential information
  • Display a comfort level working with key people at all levels within an organization

Essential Requirements

  • Must have US work rights
  • Must speak English
  • 3 or more years of experience in an administrative role

Position Type, Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a home-based, full time, hourly, non-exempt position that predominantly operates remotely from a professional home-based office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and scanners and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer. While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to regularly hear and talk. This is a largely sedentary role requiring the ability to sit at a desk, reach outward, use a phone, have use of fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, copier, and to reach above the head, bend, or stand as necessary.
