Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Cisco Collaboration Engineer to support the transition from Cisco telephony to Microsoft Teams across the customers commercial sites.
The role focuses on analyzing, cleaning up, and consolidating existing Cisco environments, while preparing the organization for a Microsoft Teams-based telephony setup.
The assignment takes place in a hybrid environment, where Cisco remains critical for manufacturing and laboratory sites, while being phased out across commercial locations.
This role can be performed fully remotely.
Context & Objectives
The customer is transitioning its telephony landscape with the following objectives:
Phase out Cisco licenses across commercial sites
Remove physical desk phones
Clean up and streamline telephony configurations
Prepare commercial locations for Microsoft Teams telephony
Current Environment
The organization currently operates in two parallel environments:
Commercial sites – migrating from Cisco to Microsoft Teams
Manufacturing & laboratory environments – still fully dependent on Cisco telephony
As a result, Cisco must be maintained for production environments, while being gradually decommissioned elsewhere.
Key Focus of the Role
The primary focus of this assignment is Cisco-related work, including:
Environment analysis
Cleanup and consolidation
Migration readiness
All activities are performed within the broader context of the organizations transition toward Microsoft Teams.
Responsibilities
Analyze existing Cisco telephony infrastructure across commercial sites
Identify and remove unused or redundant Cisco configurations, licenses, and endpoints
Support the cleanup and consolidation of Cisco environments
Prepare commercial sites for migration to Microsoft Teams
Assist with the removal of physical phones and phasing out Cisco licenses
Ensure Cisco telephony remains stable and operational for manufacturing and laboratory environments
Collaborate with internal IT teams and stakeholders throughout the transition
Document configurations, findings, and migration readiness
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Collaboration / Cisco Telephony
CUCM and related Cisco voice technologies
Proven experience in telephony cleanup, consolidation, or migration projects
Experience working in hybrid or parallel telephony environments
Strong analytical skills and ability to simplify complex infrastructures
Good documentation and communication skills
Fluent English, written and spoken
Nice to Have
Experience with Microsoft Teams Phone / Teams telephony
Previous involvement in Cisco-to-Teams migration projects
Experience in enterprise, multi-site, or global environments
Exposure to manufacturing or regulated environments
