QA Engineer (Mainframe)

Contract Type: B2B
Work Model: Full Remote (only 1 day/month on-site, in Bucharest)

Role Overview:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for Mainframe-based applications

• Ensure high quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise systems

• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and DevOps teams

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain automated test frameworks for Mainframe applications
• Develop automated test scripts for functional, regression, and integration testing

• Analyze business and technical requirements to define test scenarios

• Execute automated and manual tests when necessary

• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines

• Review test results and provide clear reports to stakeholders

• Continuously improve test automation processes and best practices.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience in QA Automation for Mainframe environments

• Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM

• Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT, or similar)

• Experience with batch and online Mainframe testing

• Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC

• Experience with SQL and data validation

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git)

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong English communication skills.
