We are actively seeking Board-Certified Orthopedic Spine Surgeons licensed in New York to perform independent medical reviews on a flexible, remote basis.
This is a non-clinical, contract-based opportunity ideal for surgeons looking to earn supplemental income while maintaining their clinical practice.
Position Overview
- Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery (Spine Focus Preferred)
- License: Active, unrestricted New York medical license required
- Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
- Work Location: Fully Remote / Telework
- Compensation: Per-case basis (average case review takes 15–20 minutes)
- Scheduling: You set your own availability and case volume
- Start Date: Onboarding and training completed in under 1 week
Key Responsibilities
- Review treatment requests and determine medical necessity
- Evaluate appealed cases and deliver impartial, evidence-based decisions
- Provide detailed written reports—no direct patient care involved
- Utilize Dane Street’s secure, intuitive online portal for all casework
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery (Spine subspecialty preferred)
- Active, unrestricted New York Medical License
- Ongoing clinical practice required
- Strong analytical and written communication skills
- Ability to apply clinical knowledge to guideline-based review processes
