Overview

As a Senior Database Admin, you will help drive team(s) in meeting project objectives. You are expected to contribute to and foster high performing technical teams. You will also be responsible for the design and coding of complex DB systems. You will collaborate and communicate effectively with architects, engineers, QA, DBAs, and Business managers to solve complex problems spanning their respective areas and resolving technological disagreements with informed, rational debate. You will coach and mentor other engineers to facilitate their development.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance enterprise PL/SQL software components including both DDL and DML.
  • Oversight and responsibility for performing Oracle database performance analysis, and ongoing maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance.
  • Responsible for managing database rollouts in Development and QA environments, packing rollouts to publish to UAT and Production.
  • Responsible for reviewing existing data architecture and making recommendations for enhancements and/or improvements.
  • Collaborate with business, engineers and DBAs to design and validate architecture solutions.
  • Responsible for evaluating and implementing database tools, documenting schema, ER diagrams, standards for use, control and maintenance.
  • Continuously self-educate and mentor team members in proper software engineering methods and techniques.
  • Review software engineering approach to proposed solutions to ensure adherence to best practice.
  • Mentor team members in proper software engineering methods and techniques.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, and 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • 7+ years developing enterprise applications with proven enterprise experience level with RDBMS and PL/SQL.
  • Demonstrable experience in SQL tuning writing cursors, triggers, and complex queries.
  • Experience working with customers and consultants to gather requirements and integrate with existing functionality.
  • Expert knowledge of the standard concepts, practices, and procedures with strong attention to detail regarding the application of changes to mission critical systems.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong internal customer service skills, ability to use tact and diplomacy, and to work effectively within a team (positive, process oriented).
  • Database Administration and Data Architecture experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of .NET Web application development a plus.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance.

Base compensation ranges from $110,000 to $150,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
