About the role:

The Career Success Coach (CSC) will play a key role in ensuring the success of learners in Correlation One’s world-class data training and jobs programs. The CSC will work alongside a team of Teaching Assistants and Correlation One program operations staff to provide professional development coaching support to a cohort of learners. Your contract begins one week prior to the program start date and concludes on the program end date.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Passionate about workforce development in the data center tech and ops learning ecosystem, motivated by helping learners build the skills needed for high-impact data center ops roles within Japan’s growing tech and innovation sectors.
  • An empathetic, culturally aware communicator who understands the unique needs of learners entering technical fields. They can confidently guide participants on how to build foundational data center technician / ops skills, navigate Japan’s evolving job market, and progress toward meaningful career outcomes.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys developing and refining program strategies—such as learner engagement tactics, career readiness resources, and employer-aligned preparation—to ensure participant success across diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
  • Highly organized with strong program and project management skills, able to coordinate across stakeholders (learners, instructors, employers, internal teams) while keeping long-term program goals—such as job placement, learner skill mastery, and stakeholder satisfaction—front and center.

Role responsibilities:

The CSC will have 4 main focus areas detailed below:

  • Conduct 1:1 coaching meetings [Up to 6hr / wk]
    • Offer 4-6 hours of office hours availability per week. This is equivalent to up to 12 30-minute (or less) meetings per week, with a max of 8 hours weekly. Your office hour availability is largely determined by you, with the expectation that you are working with learners to find mutually available times as-needed
  • Share regular updates with PD team [1hr / wk]
    • Weekly asynchronous updates serve as an opportunity for CSCs to celebrate wins, discuss specific learners for support and guidance, and share relevant announcements and updates.
    • Bi-weekly pod meetings [45min] serve as a time for more in-depth check-in, updates on current program priorities, and CSC collaboration
  • Learner engagement, interaction tracking, and job search progress [Up to 2hr / wk]
    • Track notes from 1:1 coaching meetings related to learner job search progress, ~5 minutes / meeting
    • Monthly, update the job search status for every learner in your cohort, ~ 1 hour / month
    • Reply to all Slack and email communication within 24 hours, ~ 1 hour / week
  • Providing resume and LinkedIn profile feedback [Up to 2.5hr / wk]
    • Provide feedback via standardized rubrics on 3 exercise throughout program [10min / learner / exercise]
      • Exercise 2 - Resume draft
      • Exercise 3 - LinkedIn profile
      • Exercise 4 - Resume final

Who you are:

  • Minimum 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of professional experience, ideally in career development or coaching, professional counseling, or related program management focused on job seekers
  • Outstanding, executive-ready written and verbal communication skills in English & Japanese
  • Experience developing trusting relationships and effective guidance to adult learners and/or job seekers
  • Experience delivering career coaching in an entirely remote format
  • An affinity for communicating with others in an empathetic and considerate manner
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Proactive problem-solver, high attention to detail, and a quick learner
  • High level of technical proficiency and comfortable adapting to new tools and technologies with ease
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and Slack
