We're seeking a skilled Freelance Pixel Artist to join our creative team at Botnet, a 2D Tamagotchi-world of mini-mes. The ideal candidate will be tasked with developing pixel art for various aspects of our innovative game, from detailed character designs to distinctive backgrounds and assets.

Responsibilities:

Design and Creation

  • Create unique pixel art assets such as characters, backgrounds, and other game components.
  • Work closely with the design team to bring to life smarter NPC clones, personal landing pages, servers, and gameplays.
  • Adapt your style to fit our branding and in-game aesthetics.

Level Design

  • Collaborate with the team to design and create interactive environments within the game.
  • Implement pixel graphics into levels, ensuring they contribute to the gameplay.

Review and Revision

  • Revisit and modify assets as per optimization needs or design feedback.
  • Adapt designs as the game evolves over time.

Requirements:

Technical Skills

  • Proven experience as a Pixel Artist or in a similar role within game design.
  • Proficiency in pixel art software (e.g., Aseprite, Photoshop).
  • Demonstrable ability to create characters, UI elements, and environments in pixel art.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially within a remote team.
  • Flexibility and capacity to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work in every art piece created.

Mentality

  • Passion for creating engaging and visually appealing game experiences.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset, able to foresee and mitigate design issues.
  • Drive to continually study, improve, and explore new styles and techniques in pixel art.

As our game aims to blend elements from Delphi, Tiny Homepage, Rooms.xyz, Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, Fall Guys, and more, a broad understanding of different game design styles and trends will be a strong advantage.

If you believe your skills and passion align with our needs, we invite you to submit your application with a portfolio showcasing your pixel art skills.
