What are we looking for?
Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or payroll specialist in an Australian context.
- Proficiency in advanced accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Australian payroll processes, taxation, and superannuation.
- Excellent attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
- Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and upholding professional ethics.
- High ethical standards and integrity in all financial practices.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
What will you do?
Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and current financial records using Xero accounting software.
- Record and reconcile bank transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Payroll Processing:
- Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll for clients' employees, ensuring adherence to Australian payroll regulations.
- Calculate and deduct appropriate taxes, superannuation contributions, and other deductions.
- Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
- Prepare and distribute payslips and electronic transfers in a timely manner.
Client Support:
- Collaborate effectively with the Honed Accounting team to ensure outstanding client service.
