Job Summary
Compass Group is seeking a Lead Developer to provide technical leadership for enterprise, data-driven applications supporting critical business operations. This role combines hands-on development with technical direction, mentorship, and architectural influence across teams.
The ideal candidate is a strong engineer with deep .NET and data experience who can guide design decisions, uphold engineering standards, and partner closely with architects, product owners, and stakeholders in a large enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as a technical lead for full stack .NET applications, guiding design and implementation decisions
· Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise solutions using C# and modern .NET (.NET Core / .NET 6+)
· Lead development of secure, high-performing APIs and backend services
· Oversee front-end architecture and implementation using modern frameworks (Angular, React, or equivalent)
· Own and guide data design, including schema modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning
· Review code, enforce standards, and promote best practices across the development team
· Partner with enterprise architects to ensure alignment with Compass Group technology, security, and compliance standards
· Mentor and support developers through technical guidance, reviews, and knowledge sharing
· Collaborate with product, data, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable enterprise solutions
· Assist with production support, root cause analysis, and long-term system improvements
Required Qualifications
· 5+ years of professional experience in full stack application development
· Demonstrated experience in a technical lead or senior engineering role
· Strong expertise in C#, .NET Core / .NET 6+
· Solid experience with modern front-end technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS)
· Proven experience working with SQL Server or other enterprise relational databases
· Strong understanding of data modeling, transactional systems, and query optimization
· Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs
· Proficiency with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows
· Ability to lead technical discussions and influence decisions in a large enterprise environment
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with AWS and cloud-native application design
· Strong working knowledge of Entity Framework or similar ORM tools
· Exposure to data integration, reporting, or analytics platforms
· Experience implementing or supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
· Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
· Experience supporting applications at scale across multiple business units
