Role Overview
We are seeking a QA Delivery & Automation Lead who owns end-to-end product quality in cloud-hosted environments. You will blend hands-on test automation (UI, API, performance), leadership of a multi-disciplinary QA team, and complete responsibility for test strategy, execution, and release sign-off. Prior experience in Mortgage-processing, Lending, or other highly-regulated financial domains is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
AreaWhat You’ll Own & DriveQuality Governance & Delivery Leadership• Own test strategy, planning, and release readiness for each programme increment.
• Serve as Delivery Quality Lead—define “Definition of Done,” chair defect triage, and issue the final go/no-go for production deployments.
• Establish and track quality KPIs (coverage, escape rate, MTTR, SLA/SLO adherence) and present to senior leadership.
• Mentor and manage a team of 6-10 SDETs/performance engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Cloud & Environment Testing• Design and execute functional, regression, security and performance tests on AWS / Azure micro-services, serverless, and containerised workloads.
• Build environment-as-code test harnesses (Terraform / CloudFormation) to provision and dispose cloud test beds on demand.
• Validate auto-scaling, fail-over, disaster-recovery scenarios to guarantee resilience and cost-optimised operations.Test Automation (Web, Mobile & API)• Architect re-usable automation frameworks (Selenium, Appium, Cucumber/TestNG, REST-assured) covering UI, API, and performance layers.
• Embed automation in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps) to gate builds and surface real-time quality dashboards.
• Champion shift-left practices—pair with developers on unit-level automation and contract testing (PACT / OpenAPI).Performance Engineering• Lead baseline, load, stress, endurance, and spike tests; profile bottlenecks with JMeter / k6 / Gatling and cloud APM (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).
• Produce tuning and capacity recommendations that keep applications within target SLA/SLO.Continuous Improvement & Tooling• Evaluate emerging QA tooling (AI-driven test generation, self-healing locators).
• Drive root-cause analysis of production escapes and turn findings into preventive automated tests.
Requirements
• 7–10 years of progressive QA experience with 2+ years leading teams/projects.
• Demonstrable ownership of quality for cloud-native or hybrid platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Expert in Web & Mobile test automation: Selenium / WebDriverIO, Appium, Cucumber, TestNG/JUnit, REST-assured or similar.
• Hands-on with performance-testing tools (JMeter, k6, Gatling) and interpreting cloud metrics/APM traces.
• Proven history of integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Solid experience with API testing (Postman / Newman or equivalent).
• Domain advantage: Experience in Mortgage, Lending, or broader BFSI (banking/financial-services) workflows, regulations, and data models—e.g., loan origination, underwriting, servicing—will significantly strengthen candidacy.
• Excellent stakeholder communication; ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Certifications (ISTQB, CSTE, AWS/GCP/Azure Fundamentals, Performance Testing) are a plus.
