We're looking for a mission-driven Specialist, Digital Content who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.

Your Impact at CNIB

  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to conceptualize, develop, test, and deploy impactful and accessible digital content with a focus on website content updates, email campaigns, donation pages and event websites.
  • Ensures that all work complies with brand standards, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • In all content strategy and implementation work, places emphasis on user experience, user paths, usability best practices, and accessibility.
  • Ability to provide strategic solutions to problems using excellent analytical, problem definition and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and producing high quality work.
  • Consults with manager on issues that are deemed to require senior management approval.
  • Take the initiative to work effectively in a collaborative and cross-cultural environment.

Requirements

Who you are:

Education and Certifications

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education with a focus in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field.


Experience and Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong creative and strategic thinking skills.
  • Professional attitude, results oriented, self-directed, and flexible.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office.
  • Demonstrates strong initiative, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates experience or knowledge of content management systems like Drupal, WordPress, or Shopify.
  • Demonstrates experience or knowledge of email marketing platforms such as Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp, or other modern platforms.
  • Experience or knowledge about assistive technology (screen readers, screen magnification, etc.) and how it can be used by people for different abilities to render online experience accessible.
  • Knowledge about SEO best practices.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

Eligibility

This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs initiative, individuals must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizens, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible participants. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
