About CN Logistics
CN Logistics' story began in 1991, when founder John Lau Shek Yau established the company in Hong Kong. At that time, the concepts of "logistics" and "supply chains" were not as prevalent as they are today, with the primary focus being on freight forwarding. John Lau, having graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1971 and worked for the merchant business Dodwell, struck out on his own in the 1980s, initially focusing on freight forwarding and mid-stream container handling. Recognizing the evolving nature of the industry and the limitations of solely focusing on freight forwarding, which he saw as a "sunset industry," Lau founded Cargo Services Far East in 1989, which would become the parent company of CN Logistics. This move was driven by a vision to innovate and adapt to the technological transformations shaping the logistics landscape.
CN Logistics, through its indirect non-wholly owned subsidiary CS Airfreight, was incorporated as its air freight forwarding operating arm and quickly became one of the pioneering B2B integrated freight forwarding solutions providers in China and Hong Kong. A significant turning point came when John Lau and Tim Ngan, the current CEO of CN Logistics, identified opportunities in the high fashion industry in China. They developed a proprietary Warehouse Management System (WMS) specifically designed to cater to the unique distribution needs of this sector, a strategy that proved immensely successful. Over the past three decades, CN Logistics has grown into a world-leading integrated logistics service provider, excelling in air freight forwarding and serving niche markets such as fashion, luxury goods, and fine wines. The company also provides logistical services for cruise ships. In 2020, CN Logistics International Holdings Limited was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, a major milestone that further solidified its international presence. The company has continued to expand its offerings, launching e-commerce platforms like PJF Wines in 2021 for distributing imported wines in China, and "CNShip4Shop" in 2022 to extend its e-fulfillment services globally. In September 2024, DP World became the majority shareholder of CN Logistics Limited, marking a new chapter aimed at further strengthening its integrated and competitive service offerings. Today, CN Logistics operates with over 20 global offices and a vast network of international freight forwarding partners, serving clients worldwide with a commitment to excellence and a passion for service.
