Strategic marketing is central to the delivery of our mission and we are looking to appoint, a newly created Head of Marketing to spearhead our strategic marketing efforts. The Climate Bonds brand is respected amongst key audiences who know us well, but we believe we can do a lot more to leverage it globally and regionally and build Climate Bonds' position and impact.
At this exciting time of our evolution, we are looking to build a centralised marketing function within the Strategic Communications and Marketing Team, to sit alongside the existing and well-established Communications Team. The Head of Marketing will lead key discipline areas including brand, digital marketing, events, content, design and production.
We're looking for a skilled and experienced B2B marketer with strong analytical and technical skills with proven success in developing, implementing, and evaluating highly successful cross-channel marketing strategies in a B2B environment; working closely with sales and business development teams.
The successful candidate will provide vision and strategic direction to the marketing activities of Climate Bonds. We are looking for someone with energy, flexibility and creative marketing and brand skills who is excited by the opportunity to propel our mission and drive climate change solutions.
What you’ll be doing
- Responsible for development as well as hands-on delivery of marketing strategy, plans and campaigns that drive revenue, enhance the brand and build engagement.
- Deliver the marketing aspects of our key goals focused around building our brand, understanding our audiences, creating compelling content and delivering campaigns at both global and regional level. For example:
- Build our brand and position as global market leader, by developing and refining our brand positioning and core messaging, establishing our tone of voice and narrative and applying our brand more effectively.
- Provide strategic focus and planning for communications and marketing. Support the organisation to identify its strategic priorities, define its key messages, build a coherent approach to issues and create and maintain an annual calendar.
- Create compelling content and bolster thought leadership position. Work with teams to draw out data-powered storytelling to generate targeted content to engage our audiences, inspire action and raise our profile.
- Manage our channels for greater impact. Develop high quality, integrated multi-channel campaigns to build brand and market products, driving impact and revenue. Conduct review of all key channels and develop high level channel plans.
- Identify, understand and better target our audiences. Review our primary audiences and establish baseline metrics so we can monitor and evaluate our external activity and influence key audiences more effectively and measure success.
- Lead and manage the events function, collaborating with and overseeing the events team members to assess existing requirements and capabilities. Support in building out effective events channel strategy, mapping to organisational strategy and optimising revenue/ cost structure in alignment with Climate Services Director / commercial lead and communications team.
- Build excellent working relationships, demonstrate leadership and manage global coordination across regional offices to foster best practice marketing, build skills and support colleagues in developing and delivering high quality marketing plans in key markets (e.g. Europe, LAC, SE Asia ++)
- Introduce, develop and manage successful relationships with external agencies, partners and other third-party providers to ensure high-quality cost-effective delivery.
- Provide effective oversight and management of budgets and regular reporting, working alongside senior colleagues.
- Overall responsibility for the team's performance and delivery ensuring effective planning and delivery to succeed; coaching, developing and motivating all reports
