What you’ll be part of:

Circle is committed to visibility and stability in everything we do. As we grow as an organization, we're expanding into some of the world's strongest jurisdictions. Speed and efficiency are motivators for our success and our employees live by our company values: High Integrity, Future Forward, Multistakeholder, Mindful, and Driven by Excellence. We have built a flexible work environment where new ideas are encouraged and everyone is a stakeholder.

What you’ll be responsible for:

Circle is seeking a senior banking executive to lead and deepen strategic partnerships with US Headquartered banks. This role sits at the center of Circle’s engagement with the largest, most complex financial institutions in the world and is critical to advancing USDC’s role in regulated payments, liquidity, treasury, and emerging on-chain financial infrastructure.

You will serve as a senior, trusted counterpart to GSIB leadership across Treasury, Payments, Digital Assets, Transaction Banking, and Regulatory Affairs. The role requires deep fluency in bank operating models, regulatory constraints, balance sheet dynamics, and internal governance — as well as the credibility to operate as a peer to Managing Directors and Executive Committees.

This is not a relationship maintenance role. It is a strategic coverage and execution role responsible for originating, structuring, and scaling multi-year, institution-level partnerships that materially advance Circle’s U.S. banking strategy.

What you'll work on:

  • Owning senior executive coverage for banks, acting as Circle’s primary point of accountability for relationship strategy, commercial outcomes, and long-term partnership health.

  • Defining and execute multi-year partnership roadmaps aligned with Circle’s USDC, payments, liquidity, and on-chain financial infrastructure priorities

  • Leading complex negotiations covering banking services, liquidity arrangements, settlement flows, custody, and product integrations, navigating GSIB governance and risk frameworks.

  • Partnering closely with Circle’s executive leadership to shape U.S. bank strategy, including prioritization, sequencing, and escalation management.

  • Serving as a senior internal advocate for GSIB partners, ensuring Circle’s Product, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Engineering teams are aligned to institutional requirements.

  • Driving alignment between commercial opportunity, regulatory posture, and operational feasibility, ensuring partnerships are both scalable and durable.

  • Representing Circle with credibility in sensitive regulatory and risk-oriented discussions, in coordination with Compliance and Policy teams.

  • Identifying white-space opportunities across payments, treasury, capital markets, and tokenized financial infrastructure where GSIBs can play a foundational role.

  • Maintaining executive-level visibility into partner performance, risks, and growth opportunities, providing clear recommendations to leadership.

  • Leading strategic partnership development with top-tier U.S. GSIBs

  • Structuring partnerships that integrate USDC into institutional-grade banking workflows.

  • Coordinating senior-level internal working groups to support GSIB engagements.

  • Shaping executive narratives, board-level materials, and decision memos for both Circle and bank leadership.

  • Supporting expansion from initial use cases into scaled, production-grade programs.

  • Acting as a senior voice in internal planning for U.S. banking and liquidity strategy.

What you’ll bring to Circle:

Core Requirements:

  • 13+ years of experience in banking, financial services, or fintech, with significant time spent working directly with US GSIBs.

  • Senior-level experience in transaction banking, treasury, payments, capital markets, or digital asset strategy.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within large, highly regulated financial institutions, including navigating complex approval processes.

  • Proven track record of structuring and scaling institutional partnerships with material commercial and strategic impact.

  • Executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with MDs, C-suite leaders, and regulators.

  • Strong understanding of bank balance sheets, liquidity management, and risk frameworks.

  • Familiarity with generative AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) and prompt development.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Direct experience leading or supporting digital asset, stablecoin, or tokenized finance initiatives within a major bank.

  • Experience partnering with fintech or infrastructure providers at an enterprise level.

  • Familiarity with U.S. banking regulation and supervisory expectations as they relate to new financial infrastructure.

  • Ability to operate independently while influencing across a matrixed, global organization.

  • Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite.

What drives us

Valuing our employees as stakeholders is about creating an environment where people can thrive and grow, be challenged and learn constantly – an environment that thrives on diversity by drawing competitive strength from within.
