Overview

As the Principal Architect, you will leverage your broad experiences in software and data engineering to provide technology strategy and advisory, architectural vision, and multi-year technical delivery roadmaps within one or more subject matter domains inside of the CareCentrix Technology group.  Additionally, the Principal Architect will advocate for long-term solution alignment to business goals.  To be successful in this role, the Principal Architect must be comfortable and effective in communicating with business leaders and must develop a thorough understanding of the business operations and strategies in the domains he or she will serve.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Partner with the VP of Enterprise & Solution Architecture to develop, socialize, and support an enterprise architecture for the CareCentrix business
  • Analyze, understand, and document large and complex solutions which span multiple technologies
  • Provide strategic guidance to business and technology stakeholders, to enable strong technical decision-making when considering enterprise-impacting business decisions
  • Create multi-year technology strategies to modernize legacy systems into an optimal future-state, leveraging modern technologies, patterns, and practices
  • Produce architectural designs that are supportive of business needs, technical direction, security and compliance requirements, reliability parameters, and infrastructure evolution
  • Gain an understanding of healthcare industry standards, compliance requirements, communications mechanisms, and business and clinical landscapes
  • Generate compelling documentation to articulate current-state solutions, future-state solutions, and interim solutions to both business stakeholders and engineering stakeholders
  • Develop strong relationships and rapport with business stakeholders, to gain a thorough understanding of business needs while advocating for strategic technology solutions
  • Develop strong relationships and rapport with engineering leaders and individual contributors, to champion changes in technology, and to identify engineering considerations that need to be integrated into future-state designs
  • Contribute to the organizational transformation to adopt stronger agile practices and modern software engineering techniques
  • Work with technical product teams to identify milestones, epics, and stories which will advance the engineering toward the future-state vision
  • Work with business stakeholders to incorporate business projects and initiatives into near-term and long-term solution designs
  • Develop an understanding of technologies and vendors within the domains served, to be able to offer appropriate build vs buy and vendor selection analyses

Qualifications

You should apply if you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree in computing or business disciplines a plus
  • 5 or more years in software or data engineering, and an additional 5 years of experience in architecture roles, including at least 2 in solution or enterprise architecture.
  • Healthcare experience preferred. Experience in technology within multiple industries also preferred
  • Broad background with experiences in several areas, which may include multiple programming languages and paradigms, data and analytics platforms, cloud, security, infrastructure, software package implementation/integration, engineering leadership, DevOps, AI/ML, QA/QE/SRE
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues from all areas of the company.
  • Self-motivation, and can prioritize against several competing drivers
  • Must be both strategic and analytical
