About the Group

As Canva continues to rapidly grow and expand its product offerings, the Revenue Accounting function plays a critical role in managing the increasing complexities of revenue accounting, systems, strategy, and operations. Our team is responsible for delivering a frictionless quote-to-cash process; from deal negotiation to accounting to operations and sales compensation - providing exceptional service to our customers and internal partners across Finance, Sales, and Operations.

About the Role

At Canva, change and growth are part of our DNA - and we like to think that’s all part of the fun. This means the role will evolve over time, but here’s a flavor of what you can expect when you start.

We’re looking for an experienced Director, Revenue Operations to oversee Deal Desk, Sales Provisioning, and Sales Compensation, and to design a scalable roadmap that empowers our Sales team to move fast while maintaining strong financial discipline and governance. You’ll set clear guardrails for pricing and terms, streamline approval workflows, ensure clean activation and entitlements, while leading the planning and execution of sales compensation. Partnering closely with Revenue Accounting, Sales, Finance, Legal, Payroll, Systems, and Revenue Operations - you’ll introduce automation and strengthen controls.

This role is for a strategic, hands-on operator who drives efficiency, accuracy, and clarity through data and technology.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and develop Deal Desk, Sales Provisioning, and Sales Compensation - fostering a customer centric focus, an ownership mindset and a collaborative culture.
  • Define pricing/discount guardrails, approval matrices, and exception frameworks; partner with Legal/Sales/Accounting on standard terms and playbooks.
  • Own entitlements and on-time activation with clean handoffs to Billing, Support, and Revenue Accounting.
  • Partner with Sales Ops to design and govern compensation structures that reward impact and fuel motivation (plans, quotas, SPIFFs, exceptions) and ensure accurate, timely payouts.
  • Enhance Salesforce/CPQ, provisioning, and compensation tools (Spiff/Xactly); strengthen documentation and implement controls to support SOX requirements and IPO readiness.

What we're looking for

  • Experience leading one or more of Deal Desk, Sales Provisioning/Activation, and Incentive Compensation within high-growth SaaS or enterprise environments.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills; ability to build business cases and assess ROI of pricing, exceptions, and incentives.
  • Experience with Salesforce, CPQ, entitlement/provisioning, and compensation tools (e.g., CaptivateIQ, Spiff, Xactly).
  • Proven track record of scaling processes and automation with strong governance and controls.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management—aligning Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations around simple, scalable solutions.

Canva is a graphic design platform, used to create social media graphics, presentations, posters, documents and other visual content.

Before Canva, creating a professional looking design was a complex process - you had to purchase expensive software; learn how to use it; purchase stock photography and fonts for the software; decide on a layout; slice images; receive photos and content via email; design something; upload and email the pdf only to find revisions needed to be made … and then finally be able to prepare your design for web or print.

Since launching in August 2013, Canva has been changing the way in which we communicate. Today our design tool has attracted over 15 million happy users across 190 countries, who have collectively created more than 1 billion designs.

With an integrated marketplace that has both free and paid stock photography, fonts, illustrations, and thousands of templates; a paid subscription that offers the ability to set up a brand kit so users can save their brand colours, fonts and assets, and ensure consistency across their designs; and a print service that gives our users the ability to produce professional prints in a variety of formats and sizes, delivered straight to their doorstep - Canva is disrupting the way we design.
