CACI is currently looking for a Project Assistant to join our team that supports a custom-built food distribution management system, Integrated Food Management System (IFMS), for the USDA’s Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR). The candidate will be organized and detail-driven, supporting our agile development and release processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, communication, and ensuring consistency across technical workflows.

As the Agile Project Assistant, you’ll assist the Project Manager, Release Manager, and other team members to help manage sprint operations, story quality, and documentation. To ensure smooth, efficient, and well-coordinated agile processes that support IFMS.

What You’ll Get to Do

  • Review Jira stories for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with established standards
  • Track sprint progress and identify items requiring updates or clarification
  • Assist with managing the backlog health
  • Assist in maintaining and organizing project documentation, including requirements, ensuring all artifacts are up to date, properly stored, and easily accessible
  • Assist the Project Manager and Release Manager with administrative tasks, scheduling, and coordination
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, notes, and action items for sprint and release meetings

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • (Three) 3+ years of experience in a project coordination or administrative support role — preferably within an IT or technical environment
  • Familiarity with agile principles and concepts
  • Proficient with standard office tools (e.g., Office, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and follow established processes
  • Ability to work independently in a logical, analytical and detailed manner
  • Focus on results, following up and completing tasks on time
  • Strong interpersonal communication, written communication skill and customer service skills

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with the Atlassian suite (JIRA/Confluence)
  • Exposure to software development processes
  • SAFe Agilist (SA) or Practitioner (SP) certification

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$51,800-$106,200
