Brown & Brown is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing Retail Technology Solutions team. The Project Manager will manage and deliver projects that provide exceptional business value. You will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project teams.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Project Planning and Management
Define project scope and goals while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value.
Work with the business to prioritize project requirements.
Develop project schedules and perform delivery planning for assigned projects.
Organize and lead project status and working meetings.
Identify and communicate inter-project dependencies and impacts.
Identify and manage project risks and issues.
Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects.
Perform other specifics duties as assigned
Team Management
Collaborate with and provide leadership and guidance to project team members, both internal and external, to ensure success.
Assist in team development, delegate tasks, and hold teammates accountable for their commitments.
Leverage organizational resources to improve capacity for work.
Work with project stakeholders and teammates to remove impediments.
Build and monitor key performance indicators to help the team make improvements to ensure efficient and effective team collaboration.
Project Stakeholder Support
Manage stakeholder expectations for project deliverables.
Prepare, deliver, and distribute stakeholder communications.
Assist in the implementation of an effective system of project governance
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Required:
1-3 years’ experience successfully managing large, complex software or web development projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function on-site and virtual teams.
Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
Balanced business/technical background
Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues.
Ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with all project stakeholders to develop strategies and solutions with high business value.
Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
Creative and flexible approach to problem solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view.
Ability to work independently with limited required direction and guidance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience interacting with both business and IT teammates at all levels including the executive level.
Be willing to travel up to 35%
Preferred:
Experience with one or more Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) software tools.
Project Management certification desired.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or IT
