Brock University is seeking an Education Instructor to teach a course on Socioemotional/Physical Processes and the Exceptional Learner: Technological Education. The instructor will be responsible for delivering the course, managing instructional contact time, and adapting instructional and assessment strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs. The position requires a Master's degree or research-related experiences in Educational Psychology, Cognition, Special Education, and/or Inclusion, as well as a minimum of 5 years of recent teaching/school experience, including experience with Special Education policies and practices.
Requirements
- Master's degree or research-related experiences in Educational Psychology, Cognition, Special Education, and/or Inclusion
- Minimum of 5 years of recent teaching/school experience, including experience with Special Education policies and practices
- Specialization in one or more of the following areas: Teaching Students Who are Blind/Low Vision, Teaching Students Who are Deaf/Blind, Teaching Students with Behavioural Needs, etc.
- Demonstrated leadership in curriculum and/or education
- Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum, supporting documents, and approved resources relevant to subject/foundations area
- Exhibits contemporary knowledge of educational theory and pedagogy including assessment relevant to subject area
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of social justice and equity, particularly to sexual and gender diversity, anti-racism, and Indigenous and decolonizing practices
