Position Overview

Brightcove is seeking a talented and driven Business Development Representative (BDR) Team Lead to join our sales team. This unique role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on sales activities, making it perfect for a high-achieving BDR ready to take the next step in their career. As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for guiding and motivating a team of 3 BDRs while also actively engaging in prospecting and booking meetings within our highest value, strategic accounts. This position requires an innovative mindset and a strong desire to deliver a high-quality pipeline while continuing to build upon and lead a high performing team. The goal will be to grow into a full-time managerial role as we continue to hire and scale the EMEA BDR team. This position offers the unique opportunity to have a dramatic impact on the success of Brightcove and be a driving force of our business growth efforts across the EMEA region.

Job Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of BDRs to achieve and exceed their individual and collective goals.
  • Provide coaching, training, and ongoing development to enhance the skills and performance of the BDR team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, one-on-one meetings, and team meetings to provide feedback and support.
  • Develop, test and iterate outbound strategy - using a multichannel approach.
  • Own and forecast pipeline goals by understanding and analysing top of the funnel metrics, pipeline quality, and revenue influenced across the GTM Organisation
  • Identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiencies with processes, tools, product offerings, and employee development
  • Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new BDRs.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-energy team culture that encourages innovation and excellence.
  • Sense of humour, personal integrity, and appreciation for the power of teamwork.

Player/Coach

  • Actively prospect, qualify, and generate new sales opportunities through outbound activities.
  • Book high-quality meetings and appointments for the sales team with potential clients.
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align on strategies, campaigns, and messaging.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, leads, and sales metrics in the CRM system (Salesforce).
  • Lead by example by consistently achieving personal sales targets and key performance indicators.

Qualifications/Experience

  • At least 3-5 years of sales experience in high technology services sales
  • Strong, proven sales track record with documented growth and achievements. Experience calling on a variety of customer types.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Self-motivated and drive for excellence
  • Previous experience communicating product’s market advantages to key stakeholders and administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of information, exercise good judgment, and discretion in handling and disseminating information.
  • Action-oriented mindset to have an impact in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing growth environment.

Special Conditions

  • This is a quota-carrying role in addition to leadership responsibilities
