BoostDraft was born from the collaboration of Yohei Fujii, a software engineer with an MIT background, and Hiroshi Watanabe, an attorney who studied at Stanford. They recognized that legal professionals often face the challenge of spending excessive time on manual, tedious tasks when creating and reviewing legal documents, such as endless scrolling, searching for definitions, error checking, and formatting. This takes valuable time away from focusing on the substantive legal work that truly matters to their clients. Our customers, including lawyers at top law firms and legal departments in large companies, were struggling with these inefficiencies inherent in traditional word processing.
That's why we developed BoostDraft, a solution designed to transform Microsoft Word into an AI-assisted legal document editor. We applied cutting-edge technology, similar to that used by software engineers in their Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), to streamline the legal drafting process. Our customers can now experience a completely new way of working with legal documents, with features like automated error checking, reference checking, and auto-completion. This allows them to navigate, edit, and proofread complex documents with significantly improved speed and accuracy, directly within their familiar MS Word environment. BoostDraft helps legal professionals save time, reduce frustration, and ultimately improve the quality of their work product, allowing them to better serve their clients by focusing on high-value tasks. The software is designed to be intuitive and operates locally on the user's device, ensuring that sensitive document data remains private. Since our launch, we've seen rapid adoption, primarily through word-of-mouth, by thousands of users in Japan, the United States, and other regions, demonstrating the real-world impact of our solution on their daily workflows.
