Role Summary:
The Content Team at BiggerPockets is responsible for driving the content production factory across our multiple podcasts, YouTube channels, online blog, social media and community channels, educational courses, in-person and virtual events, and book publishing business.
The Audience Development Director is responsible for the strategy behind proactively generating and retaining new listeners, subscribers, followers, viewers, attendees, and readers across the BiggerPockets content verticals. This role wins if the audience we wanted to attract is reached and also growing in the share of audience.
The best person for this role has a large network of reputable resources, media channels, and news outlets in their rolodex and is used to a cross-functional strategic position across various content verticals with a creative eye on driving new audience for the top-of-funnel growth we’re aiming for.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Increase the number of new listeners, viewers, readers, and subscribers to our podcast, youtube, social media, and blog
- Demonstrate that the new listeners are coming from specific distribution and marketing tactics in the new audience segments we aim to attract: Primarily Gen-Z, Rookie Boomers, and Passive Investors
- Find, initiate, and maintain partnerships, swaps, and/or content syndications with other large brands or competitive companies in the space to drive measurable business results in our traffic metrics
- By the end of six months, build or expand on a contact list of 100+ people in the real estate news sector and various thought leadership outlets on both a national and regional scale
- Drive the PR strategy, including which BiggerPockets talent we are promoting, where we are attempting to promote them, and what audiences we are attempting to attract with them
- Manage and drive the social media content strategy that attracts new audiences across TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Partner with the content team to build content marketing campaigns, craft initiatives, build editorial calendars, and creatively develop opportunities aimed to introduce BiggerPockets’ content to new readers, viewers, and listeners
- Discover, build, and continually manage the best ways to develop our influencer or micro-influencer strategy to promote BiggerPockets content at the influencer level
- Lead the development and execution of content marketing initiatives around third-party backlink opportunities and key editorial moments throughout the year
- Pull metrics, report the data, and analyze it to optimize processes, systemically test new ideas, and drive efficiencies in audience gain and customer monetization
- Identify any new growth opportunities and best practices based on emerging digital trends, competitive business intelligence, and general consumer insight
About You:
- 7+ years of experience in content marketing, audience development, or other paid marketing roles
- A networking master who loves meeting new people, driving results from business partnerships, and has the ability to build a large rolodex of industry-relevant partners
- Deep understanding of the digital content industry and content marketing best practices
- Knowledge and understanding of SEO best practices and social media strategy across various platforms
- Capable of building bundled data reports using Google Analytics, Tableau, Amplitude or various other data reporting platforms from content tools
- Ability to think creatively and vision new ideas and then incorporate them using data and testing in the decision process
- Excited to develop an entirely new protocol at the business, driving positive results quickly
- Experience in real estate investing and/or excited about teaching others pathways toward financial freedom
Compensation:
- The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000 based on experience, plus a 15% bonus based on company performance.
