About This Role:

Axsome Therapeutics is seeking a Director, Digital Field Access to oversee the remote engagement strategies with healthcare provider offices, ensuring inquiries related to provider and patient access are effectively addressed. The Director, Digital Field Access is a leadership position that will be responsible for setting the direction of the team, offering both local and national insights on coverage, navigating access challenges, and enhancing Axsome's overall training and access support tools. Furthermore, the Director, Digital Field Access will spearhead initiatives to keep healthcare providers informed on patient prescription statuses, eligibility for programs, and payer processes. This role reports to the Executive Director of Digital Centric Commercialization.

This is a remote role that will oversee multiple time zones.

Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead, mentor, and support the team of Digital Field Access Managers in their engagement with healthcare providers
  • Work cross functionally to develop and implement strategies for effective patient access support across all territories
  • Provide senior-level insights on national/regional payer policies, aiding the team in navigating payer issues, prior authorization pull through, and claims submission
  • Analyze trends in payer behavior for approved products and strategize accordingly with internal Axsome support teams
  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with key accounts and stakeholders
  • Stay ahead of significant managed care, reimbursement, and policy developments
  • Ensure the team is informed about changes in healthcare laws, insurance policies, and reimbursement methodologies to provide accurate and compliant support
  • Partner with training and development team to build out a managed access and patient services curriculum and educational resources

Requirements / Qualifications

  • 10+ years of industry experience with a minimum of 5 years' experience in leadership roles within Market Access, Payor Account Management, and/or Access Reimbursement
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payer policy, coverage and payment processes
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership and strategic roles
  • Ability to oversee national coverage, requiring flexibility for travel (80% remote / 20% travel)

Experience and Knowledge

  • High proficiency and comfort with digital engagement platforms
  • Expertise in territory, account, and strategic relationship management

Salary & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role is $180,000 - $205,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there may be flexibility on final job title and responsibilities. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location. Axsome offers a competitive employment package that includes an annual bonus, significant equity and a generous benefits package.
